Family Sponsorship

The Government of Canada gives opportunities to thousands of people every year to reunite with their families. Through its Family Sponsorship Program, it provides a person residing in Canada (Permanent Resident, Canadian Resident or an Indian under the Indian Act) to bring a dependent family member to Canada.

The sponsor, in this case, must be above 18 years of age, financially capable of supporting the family member in Canada and ensure that the dependant does not need any social assistance from the government.

The person looking to migrate must be a parent or a grandparent, spouse or a common-law partner, conjugal partner or dependant family member.
